How exactly do photovoltaic solar panels work?
Photovoltaic solar panels can be attached to either a roof or a wall, in position which maximises exposure to sunlight. The photovoltaic cells then produce electricity directly from the sun’s energy. The panels themselves are usually made of silicon, and consist of two separated semiconducting layers.
The panels come in various shapes and sizes. Your installer will be able to advise on the options available and the one most suitable one for your property.
Surely they won’t work if there’s no sun?
